Partly about retired teacher Domenico Stasi, apparently being recruited for terrorist activity by a former student, and partly about the similarly-named novelist telling his story, this puzzle-box narrative shifts between reality and fiction, third and first person. Though not for everybody, it’s rich in political, social, and psychological insights while demonstrating the virtues of brevity, an excellent reading experience for those who don’t insist all questions be answered definitely.
