Europa Celebrates 100

To mark the publication of Europa's 100th book, The Hottest Dishes of the Tartar Cuisine by Alina Bronsky, during the month of May we’re celebrating independent publishing and the booksellers, editors, reviewers, translators and authors whose support of Europa has been, and continues to be, so invaluable.

We hope you’ll join us in raising a toast, or two, to independence!

May 4: Literary trivia at Lolita Bar

A literary trivia night/launch party for Alina Bronsky’s The Hottest Dishes of the Tartar Cuisine. Hosted by Europa Editor in Chief Michael Reynolds and translator Tim Mohr. Prizes and giveaways galore! Happy hour: 5-7p.m. Each player receives super cool Europa tote bag + copy of our 100th title.

May 12: Europa Turns (out) 100 at Greenlight Books

Readings, discussion & reception with author Jesse Browner (Everything Happens Today, forthcoming from Europa, fall 2011.); translator Tim Mohr (Broken Glass Park, The Hottest Dishes of the Tartar Cuisine); and special guest Jhumpa Lahiri.

May 23: Indie Presses Celebrate Indie Booksellers Party

Holiday Inn NYC, 57th between 9th & 10th / 9 p.m.-midnight

Come mingle with independent presses and their authors on the rooftop of the Holiday Inn, the official ABA hotel. A party co-hosted by some of the country’s most esteemed independent presses.

Open to ABA members with a BEA pass only.
