Daniele Mastrogiacomo on tour

Foreign correspondent for Italy's La Repubblica, Daniele Mastrogiacomo was on assignment in Afghanistan in 2007 when he, his driver, and his interpreter were kidnapped by a group of Taliban. The weeks that ensued were a harrowing journey in to the heart of Taliban territory and into the soul of the Afghan jihad. Days of Fear is as brilliantly crafted and riveting as a first-rate suspense novel and holds all the emotional engagement of the best literary fiction, while offering rare insight into the Taliban resurgence in Afghanistan and telling an unforgettable tale of courage in the face of danger.
