Europa Editions will bring out more titles of international fiction in original translations than any other U.S. or U.K. publisher in 2008, more than Simon & Schuster, Pantheon, Random House, and Norton PUT TOGETHER! This, according to a survey conducted by the folks
at 3%, a resource for international literature based at the University of Rochester.
The news was extremely gratifying for everyone at Europa Editions. The big picture for translated fiction and poetry also looks promising. As Chad Post notes, this informal survey indicates that “a wide range of publishers are bringing out works of international literature.”
This is undoubtedly good news for everyone.
Many thanks to Chad Post and Three Percent for their tireless efforts on behalf of international literature.
