James Franco showed up at the 2014 Venice Film Festival this weekend with a fake mustache and a tattoo of actors Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift from the movie "A Place in the Sun" on the back of his head. There's a perfectly reasonable explanation: he was in character. Franco is directing and starring in an adaptation of Steve Erickson's book ZEROVILLE about Ike “Vikar” Jerome, a young man obsessed with film and navigating Hollywood in the 1970's. Mr. Franco used the festival to get some shooting done for the upcoming film. For more info check out the L.A. Times article here.
