The fifth annual Rome fair of independent publishing takes place this weekend, the 7th to the 10th of December, at Rome’s Palazzo dei Congressi. Europa Editions’ parent publisher, Italy’s
Edizioni E/O, is one of the fair’s founding exhibitors, and this year numerous Europa Editions authors will be featured at several of the fair’s over 200 programmed events. This year’s book fair, entitled
Più libri, più liberi (more books, more freedom) boasts the presence of over four hundred independent publishers and 50,000 new titles on display.

Elena Ferrante’s new novel,

Friday 8 December, 6 p.m. Reading and discussion of
Massimo Carlotto’s new bestseller,
La terra della mi anima (My Soul’s Land) to be published by Europa Editions in 2008. For Europa Editions, Massimo Carlotto has published

Death's Dark Abyss. His autobiographical account of life on the run,
The Fugitive, will be released in April, 2007.
Carmine Abate, whose novel Tra due mari (Between Two Seas) is to be published by Europa Editions in 2007, will be present at several events.
