This month, three Europa authors will be visiting the country to promote their latest books and discuss literature in translation.
Kicking off the month will be French author Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt—playwright, screenwriter and author of The Most Beautiful Book in the World and Three Women in a Mirror, among others. Eric-Emmanuel will be at La Maison Fran
çaise of NYU on October 14th for a talk entitled "
French Literature in the Making," where he will be joined by French journalist Olivier Barrot.
In 2012, Italian author Viola di Grado released her debut novel
70% Acrylic 30% Wool, winner of the Campiello 1st Novel Award and shortlisted for the Strega Prize--at the impressive age of 23. Viola will be visiting literary festivals in the United States and Canada to promote her new book:

Lastly, everyone has been buzzing about Europa's lead fall title (and our first hardback!),
The Last Banquet by Jonathan Grimwood. Jon will be touring the Northeast, kicking off with a very special evening of storytelling and conversation at NYC's Housing Works bookstore cafe on Monday, October 21st. Special guests include Matt Gross, Charlotte Druckman, and Gideon Lewis-Krauss. RSVP on the
Facebook event page to reserve your spot for what promises to be a truly memorable culinary evening, which may or may not include some pickled wolf's heart.
