(Oct 4) Stage adaptation of Massimo Carlotto’s latest novel draws capacity crowd to Rome's House of Jazz...
My Soul’s Land (
La terra della mia anima) is the name of Massimo Carlotto’s most recent novel, published in Italy this month (U.S. publication date, fall 2007). As with Carlotto’s 2005 novella, Nothing, But Nothing in the World (
Niente più niente al mondo) My Soul’s Land has been immediately adapted for the stage featuring Carlotto himself as protagonist-narrator, with Ricky Gianco (guitar) Maurizio Camardi (saxophone) and Patrizio Fariselli (piano), directed by Velia Mantegazza. My Soul’s Land debuts in Rome this week to a sold-out audience, and will then move on to over a dozen cities in Italy over the next few months.
Carlotto, author of
The Goodbye Kiss,
Death's Dark Abyss, and
The Fugitive, will appear in a similar live literature event, adapted for American audiences, to be held at next year’s
Europa Editions Mediterranean Noir Festival.
