Pure (forthing in June from Europa) wins 2012 Costa Best Book of the Year
Andrew Miller’s new novel Pure has won the prestigious Costa Book of the Year Award. Miller defeated four authors for the prize, including Britain’s Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. The Award recognizes the most enjoyable book of the past year by writers in the U.K. and Ireland. Pure was previously awarded the Costa Award for Best Novel on January 3rd. Miller’s story, which is set in late 18th century Paris with France on the brink of revolution, was described by the judges “as a novel without a weakness from an author who deserves a wider readership.” Europa Editions will publish Pure in June.
